8. What if I'm on vacation and am not near a computer when I realize
my child is missing?
You don't need a computer. You simply call your local police dept and grant them access to your webpage with all of the information they need to begin looking for your child.
9. What if I'm at the mall, store, amusement park, movies or restaurant when I
realize my child is missing?
You immediately notify an employee as most public establishments have a CODE ADAM set up in their places of business. The employees know to immediately begin looking for the missing person based on the description given by the adult and they would notify the security staff as well. Second, you notify the police immediately so that they can access your CIA page within seconds and begin a bigger search.
10. What steps do I need to take when I realize my child has been abducted?
If you cannot find your child, immediately call 9-1-1.
If your child is missing from home, search the house checking closets, piles of laundry, in and under beds, inside large appliances, and inside vehicles, including trunks—wherever a child may crawl or hide.
If your child disappears in a store, notify the store manager or security office. Then immediately call 9-1-1. Many stores have a Code Adam plan of action— if a child is missing in the store, employees immediately mobilize to look for the missing child.
When you call law enforcement, tell them you are a member of CHILD INFO ALERT Give them your e-mail address and password for all of your child’s information. Tell them when you noticed that your child was missing and what clothing he or she was wearing.
Request that your child's name and identifying information be immediately entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Missing Person File.
After you have reported your child missing to law enforcement, call the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children toll free 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
Again tell them you are a member of CHILD INFO ALERT and all or your child’s information can be obtained immediately.

12. Does child info alert accept automatic monthly deductions from bank accounts?
Yes, and we accept any major credit card.
13. Uploading Your Loved ones photos.
To upload your pictures you will first need to take three pictures of your child that will best represent them.
1.) Head shot: The head shot is probably the most important picture you will need for your profile. The head shot should be a very clear, close-up picture in which you can see distinguishing facial features such as scars, dimples, etc. The head shot will also be the picture displayed on the “instant flyer” in case of an emergency.
2.) Profile shot: The profile shot should also be a close-up picture of the side view of your child’s face.
3.) Full body shot: The full body shot should be a picture in which one can see your child from head to toe. Try to take a picture that represents your child in their most common look. Holiday and dress-up pictures most likely will not represent their daily look.
You will first need to download pictures to your computer. You may want to locate the pictures you want to use copy and paste them to your desktop for easy access. Renaming the pictures (Suzy’s head shot) will be useful to upload the pictures to the proper locations.
In your “manage profile” section click on the “choose file” box (Photo 1: (Head Shot) for example), locate and double click on the picture file you want to upload. The picture file name will appear to the right of the “choose file” box (note: the actual picture will not appear until after you have clicked the “save changes” box at the bottom left of the profile page!!). Repeat the steps for the other two pictures. You can upload all three pictures before pressing the “save changes” box at the bottom left of the profile page.
Trouble shooting: Some picture files may be too large (too many (dpi) “dots per inch”) to upload to the system, in this case you will need to edit the picture by using the cropping tool in your picture edit program to crop the picture slightly which will most likely decrease the “dpi” allowing the picture to upload. Simple go to your picture editing software in the tools section go to crop picture, after cropping the picture go file and “save as” Suzy’s head shot 2 (for example). Save it in a file location that you can easily find.
